What’s Up Duck? A Book of Opposites by Tad Hills (2008)

This a simple board book, with clear pictures that carry well for groups of 1 and 2 year olds. The opposites are the most basic: loud/quiet, happy/sad, up/down, etc. And they’re demonstrated by a very appealing cast of bird characters (two ducks, a goose, and a bluebird). Their personalities draw readers, and they visually reinforce the vocabulary that’s in the text.
