Three Bears  by Byron Barton (1991)

book jacket

Here is something I did in preschool storytime to work on narrative skills and dialogic reading:

I read Byron Barton's Three Bears.

I asked, "Do you ever wonder what happens to the characters after the story is over? What do you think happened when Goldilocks got home? What did the bears do after she left?"

Afterwards, I said, "This book is about how Baby Bear got a new chair." Then I read A Chair for Baby Bear by Umansky. The kids were really into the sequel concept.
