After I read this with my toddlers, pausing for dramatic sighs after each chorus of "and everyone has to wait," I try to practice some dialogic reading and ask some open-ended questions about the vehicles. Then I say to the parents, "There is so much to talk about in this book! Talking about a book is just as valuable as reading it, when it comes to vocabulary building."
