Little Hoot by Amy Krouse Rosenthal (2008)

Children will get a "hoot" out of Little Hoot at your next story time. All Little Hoot wants to do is go to bed at a normal hour just like all his friends, but being a owl makes for late nights and Mama and Papa Owl are keeping him up. Little Hoot has fun and whimsical illustrations and with a great play on words story line ("And besides, I don’t give a hoot what time your friends go to bed.") that will keep kids interested (print motivation ) and wanting to understand why the little owl would want to go to bed early.
