Is This My Nose? by Georgie Birkett (2008)

A biggish board book with natural interaction. An owl asks “can you find your eyes, eyes, eyes?” and the facing page shows a child pointing to their own eyes with the text “Yes, you can!” Four more animals each do a different body part, then all five are reviewed on the last page. There’s a surprise there, as you lift up the gate flap to reveal a mirror. Any parent reading this book will get the idea that you can point to your own parts as you read it. Using this in storytime is a good opportunity to remind them that when they get their child participating in even a simple book like this they are developing their narrative skills and that they are using dialogic reading and providing important print motivation when they make books interactive.
