In a Blue Room by Jim Averbeck (2008)

Looking for something new for your pajama storytime? Or want a good book to bring calmness back after wiggles and giggles? Try my new favorite book, In a Blue Room by Jim Averbeck. Come along with Alice as she settles down and gets ready for bed, but she can’t fall asleep yet until her room is blue though and through. She gets help from her Mama but it’s not until the lights are out that she really gets her blue room.
A really nice book with a simple melodic tone, this would be great for your story time or a great recommendation for a parent and one on one with their child. The illustrations are great for conversations around colors and with the author’s choice words a child can learn a few new vocabulary words (such as murmur, lilacs, scent, drowsy and chime). And parents will love it especially for the tender sweet moments.
