I'm the Biggest Thing in the Ocean by Kevin Sherry (2007) 

It's hard to keep a good squid down.  A giant squid points out all of the things in the ocean that are smaller than himself, until he is swallowed by a whale, but that doesn't keep him from being optimistic:  "I'm the biggest thing in this whale!"

Good for print motivation as kids try to identify the different sea creatures the squid mentions, and good for vocabulary for the same reason.  It could also be used for print awareness as each double-page spread features 6-7 words per spread.
