I Ain't Gonna Paint No More by Karen Beaumont (2005)

After a boy gets caught "paintin' pictures on the floor and the ceiling and the walls and the curtains and the door," his mother hollers "ya ain't a-gonna paint no more!" He ignores her. "I take some red and I paint my...HEAD!" kicks off a series wild pictures where he paints a different body part each time. You have to turn the page to reveal which part he decorates next, which is a perfect set-up for kids to demonstrate phonological awareness by guessing the rhyme. Based on the song "It Ain't Gonna Rain No More," the words can be read, chanted, or sung. A sure-fire storytime hit.
