The Doghouse  by Jan Thomas (2008)

Four worried animal friends venture into dog's house to retrieve a lost ball.  These are the same characters from Thomas' excellent What Will Fat Cat Sit On?, and it has similar sure-fire storytime qualities:  clear bold pictures, a bit of suspense, a lot of humor.  Many words are bolded and colored, so it's great for Print Awareness.  And the simple pattern of the story works well for Narrative Skills.
