All the World by Liz Garton (2009)

book jacket

All the World by Liz Garton is a charming book that preschoolers will thoroughly enjoy.  A wonderful picture book with illustrations by Caldecott Honor medalist Marla Frazee, this book would work perfect as a concept book as well.  With each page in the story describing how simple items in their world relate to the bigger picture and the world around them, the story progresses throughout a day’s time span and follow a family on their vacation.  Rock, stone, pebble sand –Body, shoulder, arm, hand –A moat to dig—a shell to keep  All the world is wide and deep!  Children will love the rhythm of the book and all rhyming words all while getting a dose of phonological awareness.  A great book to bring storytime into a calm mood or perfect for the pajama storytimes!!
